Beach, Bay and Townscape
Marina di Campo combines Elba’s coastline with a long sandy beach, a distinctive townscape and paths through landscapes of natural interest. Marina di Campo beach is the longest beach on the island of Elba and has fine ochre-coloured sand. The beach is easily accessible from the centre of Marina di Campo; there are free and paid parking spaces in the town.
The old town of Marina di Campo, together with a watchtower and a pine grove, forms the backdrop to the bay. The Torre di Marina di Campo is 25 metres high and can only be viewed from the outside. Here, the beach, townscape and a visible historic structure come together by the water.
Water and Nature on Elba
If you would like to include maritime experiences in your trip, Marina di Campo has a diving centre. Kayak excursions are also organised. Both options complement a beach holiday with activities on the water, without requiring you to visit another specific place within the municipality.
The landscape around Marina di Campo also offers its own travel highlight. The Via dei Rosmarini is a scenic and nature-oriented trail through one of the wildest regions of the island of Elba. There are also connections from Marina di Campo to Isola di Pianosa. This allows you to consider a coastal stay, a nature trail and a possible island destination as different interests when planning your trip.
Beaches in the Nearby Area
The nearby area around Marina di Campo includes Spiaggia di Marina Di Campo, La Galenzana, Spiaggia di Fonza and Spiaggia di Cavoli as beaches.
Museums and Special Places
Villa di San Martino, a palace, is located near Marina di Campo. Museums in the surrounding area include the Museo Nazionale delle Residenze Napoleoniche dell'isola d'Elba, the Museo Nazionale Delle Residenze Napoleoniche and the Museo Civico Archeologico e Fortezza Pisana. The cultural range therefore extends from a residence to several museum offerings.
Acquario dell'Elba is located in Marina di Campo, 800 metres from Foce Beach and around 2 kilometres from the town centre. It is a completely private aquarium on a small island. Its precise location makes the aquarium a clearly identifiable point for orientation between the town centre and the coast.
Which Location Suits Your Accommodation Needs?
The connection to Isola di Pianosa may also play a role in your considerations. This allows you to structure your choice of hotel location around your personal interests, while Marina di Campo remains recognisable as a coastal town, a base for experiencing nature and a starting point for cultural discoveries on Elba.
