Villa Obizzi: Renaissance Layout and Present-Day Use

In Albignasego, Villa Obizzi combines a building history spanning several centuries with a present-day public function. It dates back to the 17th century and has a Renaissance layout that was altered by extensive modifications in the 19th century. The building is currently used as the seat of the municipal administration and the Albignasego City Library. As a result, historic architecture and municipal and library functions come together in the same building.

Parco Villa Obizzi as a Historic Garden

Parco Villa Obizzi is the most important public park in Albignasego. At the same time, it is a historic garden dating back to the late 16th century, and it was known for many years as Parco della Rimembranza. The garden therefore dates from an earlier period than the villa.

Biblioteca Civica and Sala Verdi

At the Biblioteca Civica, visitors can use and borrow books and magazines; free internet access is also available. Guided visits and cultural tours are likewise among the formats it supports.

The Sala Verdi in Villa Obizzi is used for cultural and musical events and is accessible to people with disabilities. Alongside the library, the villa therefore has a dedicated space for cultural and musical events.

Parco Mandriola and Parco della Costituzione

Large green spaces, children's play equipment and a kiosk shape the character of Parco Mandriola. The park is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities. Parco Villa Obizzi, by contrast, is a historic garden; the two parks therefore have different features.

Parco della Costituzione has a reservable picnic area with a barbecue. It can be used from 10:00 to 21:00 in two time slots. Residents of Albignasego must make an advance reservation to use it. For planning the day, this means that the reservable area is available between 10:00 and 21:00 in two fixed time slots rather than continuously.

Festa della Trebbiatura

The Festa della Trebbiatura in Albignasego took place on 21 and 22 June 2025, marking its 23rd edition. The program featured demonstrations of traditional crafts and included re-enactments of rural life in times gone by. The 2025 Festa della Trebbiatura was also complemented by a market for organic products and GAS. Craft demonstrations, rural re-enactments and market offerings were therefore all part of the same edition.

Cycling and Local Orientation

Albignasego received the “Comune Ciclabile 2025” award with two Bikesmiles. The city's cycle network is designed to connect with neighboring municipalities and the city's main attractions. A cycling tour can therefore include both destinations within the municipality and connections extending beyond its boundaries.
