Sant'Antonio among cycle paths, culture and landscape

When planning your stay in Sant'Antonio, you can choose between three main focuses: cycling routes along the Bacchiglione, cultural destinations in the surrounding area, and festivals featuring local traditions. Mountains, a natural arch and a park complement the landscape perspective. This allows you to consciously shape the character of your trip.

Festivals and river history

The Festa del Gnocco in Veggiano reached its 15th edition in 2026. In Veggiano, the Festa di Sant'Antonio is also traditionally celebrated on 13 June; the parish festival has been scheduled for this date since the early 1970s. If you would like to combine travel experiences with regional customs, the two festivals offer different points of connection in terms of timing.

Another approach to history leads to the Museo del Fiume Bacchiglione. It displays state-owned archaeological finds recovered from the riverbed, including two oak dugout canoes. The boats, made from a single tree trunk, give the museum visit a vivid theme combining the river landscape and archaeology.

Palaces, museums and landscape

Several destinations with different classifications are located around Sant'Antonio. Villa Emo Capodilista is a palace, and Villa Montruglio is also a palace. Villa dei Vescovi is a museum; the Museo Civico - Villa Comunale Roberto Bassi Rathgeb is also a museum. This allows you to distinguish between palaces and museums on your excursions.

Monte della Madonna and Monte Venda are mountains in the area around Sant'Antonio. Arco Vallaresso is a natural arch there. Your landscape planning can therefore include mountains and a distinctive natural formation as separate points of interest.

The Parco San Daniele park is located in the area around Sant'Antonio. Another activity was the Caminada de San Martin, a running event organized in the FIASP calendar with the support of the municipality of Veggiano. The park and the running event represent two different ways of incorporating exercise and time outdoors into your travel plans.

Cycle paths with different routes

The Ciclovia del Bacchiglione between Padua and Vicenza follows the riverbank and runs almost entirely along paved cycle paths. It is considered easy and safe and is also suitable for families with children. If you are travelling with children, this route, regarded as easy and safe, is therefore an obvious focus for planning your day.

The Vicenza–Montegalda–Padua cycle connection provides additional orientation with two precise location references. It reaches Sant'Antonio di Veggiano 2.1 km after Montegalda and continues for another 1.3 km from Sant'Antonio di Veggiano to Santa Maria di Veggiano. The different distances help you organize your plans spatially and mentally compare possible stages.

On the Bacchiglione cycle path, a stop at San Martino della Vaneza Castle and its Archaeological Museum of the Bacchiglione River is recommended. On the stage from Santa Maria di Veggiano to Longare, the Cammino Veneto delle abbazie e dei santuari follows the unpaved embankment along the Bacchiglione. Stage W04 runs along Via Sant'Antonio to the intersection with Via Vallarega and SP98.
