Galzignano Terme combines culture, nature, thermal waters and outdoor activities. Gardens, museums, trails and regional history are just as central here as golf and thermal mud treatments.
Garden Art and History in Valsanzibio
The Museo dei Colli Euganei presents the millennia-old relationship between people and nature in the Euganean Hills. At the same time, it introduces Galzignano Terme and its districts of Galzignano and Valsanzibio in five sections covering nature, history and art.
The Giardino Monumentale di Valsanzibio features a boxwood labyrinth that is more than 400 years old. Guided tours explain the garden’s symbolic significance and some botanical aspects. Also set in the landscape is the Antica Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta on the Colle della Chiesa, also known as “Monteselo”, which dominates the surrounding landscape.
Nature Trails and Botanical Impressions
Trail No. 4, the Sentiero del Monte Venda G.G. Lorenzoni, passes the Fontana Olivato and runs through a chestnut forest with spring blossoms.
Nature is also the focus around Casa Marina. Casa Marina is an information point of the regional park for people exploring the park’s trails and offers nature education programs. The site includes a botanical garden with an area dedicated to medicinal plants. The Giardino Botanico dei Colli Euganei also reconstructs representative vegetation zones of the Euganean Hills. The Cammino Laudato Si’ leads to Casa Marina on Monte Venda; visitors can explore the botanical garden and the Sentiero dei pianeti there.
Thermal Waters and Golf
The Terme di Galzignano are part of the Euganean thermal basin and are known for their hyperthermal water, which contains salt, bromine and iodine and emerges at around 80°C. The spa facilities are also known for their thermal mud treatments.
The Galzignano Golf course has nine holes and is 2,048 metres long; its design includes water features and ponds. The practice facility offers covered teeing areas, a pitching/chipping green, a putting green and a practice bunker. The number of holes and the length provide two concrete reference points for planning a round of golf.
Exploring by Bicycle
The Museo dei Colli Euganei can be reached by bicycle via the Euganean Hills ring route and then along the cycle and pedestrian path from Galzignano starting at Battaglia Terme.
