The protected waterway Scolo Porra begins in Taggì di Sopra where the Rio Fosco and Scolo Limenella converge, crosses Limena from west to east and flows into the Brentella.

Villas, Churches and Roman Traces

The Barchesse di Villa Fini were part of a monumental complex built in the second half of the 17th century by the Venetian noble Fini family. After the villa was demolished towards the end of the 18th century, two large barchesse remain from the complex. The Oratorio della Vergine del Rosario is attributed to the architect Alessandro Tremignon. Villa Savonarola Trieste has a garden designed by the neoclassical architect Giuseppe Jappelli.

Limena’s past dates back to Roman times: archaeological finds in the Tavello area and the course of the Roman road Val Medoaci through the municipal territory confirm that the Limena community had already begun to take shape at that time. Only the choir floor and part of a fresco from the second half of the 15th century remain from the former church. The present-day church in Limena was built in the early years of the 20th century.

Water-engineering heritage also includes Colmelloni: it is an ancient hydraulic sluice structure. The term points to another facet of the town’s history, in which river courses, canals and structural interventions in the water landscape are interconnected.

In the area around Limena, Palazzo Maldura is a palace. The Museo di Geologia e Paleontologia is a museum there; Palazzo Zuckermann is also a museum. The Anfiteatro Romano Padova is an ancient site near Limena.
