Salgareda offers two clear themes for your trip: the river landscape along the Piave, with cycle paths and walking trails, as well as architectural heritage and places associated with Goffredo Parise. There are also destinations in the surrounding area and the wider regional area. These different themes give your planning a clear direction, without equating destinations in the surrounding area with those in the wider regional area.

Piave cycle route and river forest

The cycle route along the Piave can be accessed from Ponte di Piave via Via Gonfo, near the “Casa Parise” area. It passes through the Oasi di Chiesavecchia and follows the river through a forest area with abundant native vegetation. The river, forest and native vegetation define the character of this landscape route, making it particularly interesting for trip planning focused on nature and cycling.

Other cycling and walking routes

The Bike Tribe Mtb Trail is considered a cycling and walking route as well as a trail for hikers. Along the route, a signposted gravel section begins near the access to the “Casa delle Fate” and leads to the access point to the Gonfo river forest; motor vehicles are prohibited there. The Itinerario Gira Piave includes the Oasi di Chiesa Vecchia and places associated with Goffredo Parise. The two route names each highlight different aspects of movement, river landscape and culture.

Culture in Salgareda

The Oratorio Madonna della Salute di Villa Rebecca is an example of architectural heritage in Salgareda dating from 1900. Casa di Goffredo Parise is also known as “Casa delle Fate” and is a small building on the Piave River amid a landscape of gravel flats. Goffredo Parise lived in Casa di Goffredo Parise for thirteen years, from 1970 to 1983. Architectural heritage and the specific connection to Goffredo Parise can therefore be considered as distinct cultural themes.

Surrounding area and wider regional area

The area around Salgareda includes the “A. Martini” Pinacoteca, a museum; Villa Ancillotto, a historic site; Castello Papadopoli Giol, a castle; and the historic site Floor Mosaics and Roman Well. In the wider regional area around Salgareda are the island of Cason Montiron, Lido di Iesolo beach and Spiaggia del Faro beach. The geographical distinction is important for your planning because these cultural, natural and coastal destinations do not belong to the same surrounding-area category.

Sagra di Salgareda and choosing a hotel

The Sagra di Salgareda takes place every year and offers wine tastings from local wineries at its food-and-wine stand. This adds a clear regional culinary focus to the Piave landscape and culture. When choosing a hotel for Salgareda, you can consider whether the landscape along the Piave, the cultural sites, destinations in the surrounding area or the Sagra should be the focus of your trip. The different geographical details support realistic planning without equating nearby destinations with those located farther away in the wider region.
