Religious Heritage and Historical Testimonies

The Benedictine Abbey of Santa Bona was founded between 1107 and 1110 by Giovanni Gravone from Vidor. After the First Crusade, he had brought relics of Saint Bona from the Holy Land; the abbey was built to house them. The church of the Abbazia Benedettina di Santa Bona preserves a simple ground plan characteristic of the local Romanesque style, as well as late Gothic decorative elements on its façade. The oratory also contains a 13th-century fresco of Saint Christopher.

In 1200, the Trevisani destroyed the castle to prevent Ezzelino III da Romano from using it.

For exploring the area by bicycle, the “La Via delle Colline” route is a good option. It connects historical, religious, ecological and wine-and-food attractions with the “La Piave” cycle path.
