Zero Branco between waterways and Venetian architecture
The landscapes of Zero Branco and its surroundings encompass waterways, Venetian villa architecture, church art, Gothic architectural forms and green countryside. This gives you a selection of different themes: the path along the Fiume Zero, historic buildings, parks and destinations in the wider regional area each provide their own highlights.
In the Sant'Alberto area of Zero Branco, the path along the Fiume Zero runs through the landscape. Villa Guidini is a 17th-century Venetian villa complex with a park and four hectares of adjoining land. The central rooms feature Venetian stucco work with floral motifs, original exposed beams and fireplaces. In one corner of the park stands an icehouse: the dome-shaped, earth-covered structure once served as a refrigerator. The park of Villa Guidini is home to the shooting range of the Arcieri Villa Guidini association.
Church, Paintings and Gothic Palace
The Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta stands at the intersection of a cardo and a decumanus of the ancient Roman centuriation. The first and oldest settlement nucleus of Zero Branco developed at this intersection. The church houses the altarpiece “Madonna del Parto”, considered to be an original work by Jacopo Palma il Giovane.
Palazzo Sagramora is a practically perfectly preserved Gothic building from the 14th century. Its ground floor has five pointed arches opening onto a rear portico. In 1503, the palace served as a hospice run by the Scuola dei Battuti to accommodate pilgrims.
Green Landscape and Destinations in the Surrounding Area
Villa Libralato is located on Via Milan in the green landscape of the Branco district, near the Fiume Zero and on the edge of a densely wooded area. Palazzo dei Trecento, a palace, is also located in the surroundings of Zero Branco. The Musei Civici di Treviso and Chiave di volta snc, both museums, are also in the surrounding area, as is La Bellissima Treviso, a historic site.
In the wider regional area around Zero Branco lies Spiaggia Lungomare d'Annunzio, a beach. Carbonera is an island in the wider regional area around Zero Branco. Area verde via Giussani and Parco Rabin are also located in the surroundings of Zero Branco; both are parks. The thematic scope therefore ranges from historic interiors and religious buildings to parks, woodland surroundings, a beach and an island.
