Historic Center and Churches

The historic center of Trivignano is a small ensemble of buildings probably of agricultural origin. It lies primarily along the tree-lined Via Chiesa, which leads to the Church of San Pietro in Vincoli. The spatial sequence of the historic center, street and church provides a clear framework for the town’s history.

Church History, Palaces and Museums

The parish church of Trivignano was originally dedicated to Saint Peter in Chains. The main altar of the Church of San Pietro in Trivignano was consecrated on August 9, 1565. Palazzo Da Mosto, now known as Villa Cadamosto, may date back to the 15th or 16th century and was built by the Venetian noble Da Mosto family.

Since 2014, the City of Venice has participated in the “Pietre d’Inciampo” project, a decentralized, community-supported memorial project commemorating individual victims of Nazi deportation to concentration and extermination camps. Forte Gazzera, a fort, is located in the vicinity of Trivignano. Forte Carpenedo, a fort, and the Ecomuseo le Terre del Brenta, a museum, are also located in the surrounding area. In the wider regional area is the Scuola di San Rocco, a museum.

Mills, Paths and Landscape

The Troso di Trivignano runs from Via Castellana across the Rio Storto to Mulino Scabello. A sawmill was operated at Mulino Scabello in Trivignano. Near Mulino Scabello, a wooden bridge eliminated a historic interruption in the agricultural path that connected Zelarino to the north and Olmo and Maerne to the west with the mill. The name of Mulino Cabianca derives from the family of the same name; today, it is better known as a former paper mill. It shows only a few traces of its original function, as it was permanently abandoned after being used for paper processing.

In the vicinity of Trivignano are Area verde via Giussani, a park, San Secondo, an island, and Parco villa tessier, a park. In the wider regional area, there is also Spiaggia Lungomare d’Annunzio, a beach.

Cycling Routes and Festival Program

There are 15 kilometers of cycling routes in the area between Zelarino and Trivignano, including dedicated and shared routes. A fixed-date event is the Antica Sagra di San Marco e San Pietro di Trivignano: it takes place from April 20 to May 1 and includes a food stand, live music, rides and dance evenings.
