Between the lakeside and Monte Baldo

Brenzone is located on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. The area extends from the lakeside to the peaks of Monte Baldo, which rise to over 2,000 metres. When choosing accommodation, you can therefore first consider whether your days should be shaped more by the lake, paths through nature or cultural destinations.

Paths for cyclists and walkers

The Ciclopedonale di Brenzone is an approximately 9-kilometre-long, level path along the lakeside that is suitable for everyone. There are 26 small bridges along the route. Rest areas with benches, shaded sections and direct access to the beaches are also part of this path. This means the route combines exercise by the water with opportunities for breaks and a direct connection to the lakeside.

Those looking for changes in elevation and longer routes will find seven official trails in the Nordic Walking Park di Brenzone: four circular routes by the lake and three mountain routes accessible from Prada. This division makes the area’s different landscapes visible without combining them into a single tour.

Lake and mountains as distinct day-trip destinations

Navigarda operates three landing stages in the Brenzone area. From Prada, the Funivia Prada-Costabella reaches the Costabella area at an altitude of over 1,800 metres in two sections. For planning your days, this means that a lakeside with landing stages and a mountain destination at its own elevation stand side by side as clearly distinct points of reference.

Medieval villages and Roman traces

Campo is a medieval village that is now uninhabited and accessible only on foot. The Villa Romana was discovered in 2004 near the Chiesa di San Zeno in Castelletto. It is considered the only excavated example to date of a lakeside residence on the eastern shore of Lake Garda.

The Pietra di Castelletto is considered the only European example of this engraving technique outside the Valcamonica area. The Chiesa medievale San Zeno a Castelletto features Romanesque forms from the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries. The church of San Nicola di Mira was built between the 11th and 12th centuries and preserves medieval frescoes.

Access to the Chiesa medievale San Zeno a Castelletto is provided by keys that you can collect from the tourist information office against a deposit. This specific rule applies to visiting this building. At the Festa di Santa Caterina on 25 November, you can also watch olives being pressed at an olive mill in Castelletto.

Olive oil and stand-up paddling

During the tourist season, olive oil tastings are organised at the Oleificio Piccoli Produttori di Castelletto. At the Acquafresca Sport Center, qualified instructors teach stand-up paddling technique.
