Malpasso between Prehistory, Sacred Sites and Landscapes

Malpasso can be explored through several clearly distinct travel interests: prehistoric craft techniques, sacred sites, natural formations and museums in the wider surrounding region. Demonstrations on Bronze and Ceramics at the Villaggio preistorico

At the Villaggio preistorico, the areas dedicated to bronze working and firing ceramic materials are regularly used for demonstrations for the public and school classes. Guided visits for private groups are offered from March to November and are always accompanied by a staff member. For private groups, this involves seasonal planning between March and November. The site is therefore particularly interesting for travellers who want to learn about historical techniques not only through buildings, but also through processing and production.

Oratorio di San Biagio and Palazzo Vescovile

The Oratorio di San Biagio was completed in 1695. It houses a valuable mother-of-pearl crucifix. A Roman stele is also kept in the bishop's cellars in the library. The Palazzo Vescovile is open on the first Sunday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; reservations are required for other visits. The Palazzo's fixed opening hours are in the morning and can be planned as a separate part of a visit. The three sites and objects each emphasize different aspects of architectural history, sacred art and archaeology.

Wetland and Natural Arches

Parco Valle del Menago is a wetland of approximately 35 hectares located directly near Bovolone. The wider surrounding region of Malpasso is also home to the natural arches Porta Nuova, Porta Vescovo, Porta Leoni and Porta Palio. Nature enthusiasts can therefore focus on different landscape themes: an extensive wetland and individual natural arch formations.

Cycling Route and Hike

Via Malpasso is connected to a cycling route from Bovolone towards Isola della Scala and Tarmassia. Another way to get active is “Dalla valle alla villa”, a hike of approximately 5 kilometres.
