Park on Via della Pineta

At the northern edge of the town center, a completely redesigned public park is located on Via della Pineta. It covers approximately 3,000 square meters. The park is therefore a clearly defined part of the townscape and complements the area’s walking and cultural attractions with a public place to spend time.

The facilities include footpaths, benches, a drinking fountain, rubbish bins and picnic tables. There is also a small play area and garden spaces for children. These features show that the park accommodates different ways of spending time there, from a short break to a longer period outdoors.

The Dorsale delle Frazioni “Renzo Giuliani” reaches Novaglie via a path that climbs through the woods to the village on the crest of the hill. Its route connects the woodland landscape with the built-up area in a way that is important for orientation during a hike.

The ancient Via Molinara should be distinguished from this. It once connected Novaglie with Montorio and therefore belongs to the area’s history of historic routes, not to any statement about present-day use of this connection.

Spiritual Sites and the Pilotòn

Casa San Fidenzio is a diocesan spirituality center in Novaglie, at Via Pradelle 62, 37142 Verona. It offers prayer, retreat and educational activities for laypeople, members of religious communities and priests.

The Pilotòn is a 3.20-meter-high limestone megalith with a phallic shape. Its circumference is 2.05 meters at the base and 1.80 meters at the top. Researchers describe it as a sacred megalith that is believed to have been erected at a special site to promote the fertility of the earth. It is probably connected with three nearby villages dating from the Middle Bronze Age, around 1500 BC.
