Brendola is considered an important western gateway to the Colli Berici. Torre Revese is the preserved square tower of a complex built in the late 16th century that belonged to the Revese family. Villa Piovene – Municipio now serves as the seat of the municipal administration and is considered one of the elegant Gothic villas in the Province of Vicenza. Chiesetta Revese provides another historic focal point. It is a sacred building from the early Renaissance dedicated to Santa Maria Annunciata; despite the disputed dating, the present construction is thought to date from 1486 to 1499. The fresco cycle inside is attributed to the Vicentine painter Giovanni Buonconsiglio. Rocca dei Vescovi stands on a limestone spur of Monte Sommaripa. Its name derives from the former episcopal jurisdiction.

Routes for Different Day Plans

The Centro Storico route takes about three and a half hours, starts at Piazzetta del Donatore and allows you to discover the most important historic monuments in the historic centre of Brendola. La Via dei Carri is shorter, taking about one and a half hours, and starts at Casa Natale S. Bertilla. The birthplace of Saint Bertilla is a rural 19th-century dwelling that has preserved its original features and furnishings. The Madonna dei Prati hiking trail takes about two hours on foot and leads through vineyards, cultivated fields and tree-lined avenues. Winegrowing and Regional Products

Winegrowing accounts for approximately 45 percent of Brendola’s total agricultural area. Garganega is an important indigenous grape variety of the Berici and also the most significant white grape variety in Brendola by volume; various types of wine are produced from it. Local agriculture also includes traditional baked goods, particularly the typical Pan Biscotto, as well as honey. Characteristic products also include extra virgin olive oil with the protected designation of origin D.O.P. of the Colli Berici and prickly pears, which grow below the castle. San Vito and Traces of Rural Brendola

The Sentiero di San Vito e delle Fontane begins in the hamlet of San Vito on Via Lampertico and leads to the upper part of Contrada Ca’ Vecchie. Along the way, you pass four fountains or washhouses as well as the former aqueduct of the hamlet of San Vito. The Antica Chiesa Benedettina di San Vito is part of this loop trail. San Vito di Brendola is also home to an ancient farmstead of Benedictine origin. Monks following the Rule of Saint Benedict settled there before the year 1000 and remained until the Napoleonic era. In this way, the route combines nature, historic infrastructure and sacred history within a clearly defined section of the municipal area.
