Trissino amid Hills and Architectural Heritage

Trissino combines a predominantly hilly municipal landscape with extensive woodland areas and several cultural and historical landmarks. The municipal area lies about 140 metres above sea level and covers 21 square kilometres. The Agno stream crosses the municipal area. Villas between the Middle Ages and the 18th Century

Villa Trissino, Da Porto, now Marzotto, was completed in the 18th century based on a design by Francesco Antonio Muttoni. Villa Trissino Paninsacco is one of the two surviving villas from the medieval complex in Trissino. Here, you therefore encounter different historical periods: a medieval complex with two surviving villas and a later completed building associated with the name Muttoni. This chronological span makes the villas an important part of Trissino’s cultural and historical exploration.

Churches from Different Periods

The parish church of Sant’Andrea in Trissino contains a holy water font dated to 1274 and a statue of the Madonna delle Grazie from the 15th century. In the hamlet of Selva, the parish church of Santa Maria Maddalena was built at the beginning of the 14th century. The Church of San Pietro Apostolo provides a much more recent landmark: it was inaugurated in 1971, built by Francesco Vacchini and executed according to a design by Antonio Nervi. The three churches thus illustrate a chronological span ranging from medieval sacred traces to a 20th-century church.

Festivals and Sporting Events

Una Giornata in Villa Marzotto is held annually in July. The Festa del Gnocco takes place in September as one of Trissino’s recurring local festivals. In October, an international ski-roll race with the Società S.A.V. di Vicenza is held annually. In addition, Team Mountain Bike Trissino meets on Sunday mornings in both summer and winter.
