Enego combines historic buildings, upland landscapes, trails with their own distinctive character, and a local feast day. Torre Scaligera stands on Piazza San Marco in the center of Enego and houses a permanent historical exhibition. Piana di Marcesina features extensive pastures and vast forests; PalĂą di San Lorenzo is a protected wetland with distinctive botanical and faunal characteristics.

Church, Tower and Fortress Landscape

Torre Scaligera is located on Piazza San Marco in the center of Enego. It was built around 1330 on the orders of Cangrande della Scala and formed part of a larger, square-shaped fortified complex. Torre Scaligera is approximately 22 meters high. Inside, it houses a permanent historical exhibition with archaeological, geological and medieval finds. The Cathedral of Santa Giustina was built in 1792 at the top of a grand staircase; it contains an altarpiece by Jacopo Da Ponte. Forte Lisser belonged to the Fortezze Brenta–Cismon fortification system, whose purpose included controlling the Valsugana. Forte Coldarco is a restored World War I fortification in Enego.

Uplands and Protected Nature

Piana di Marcesina lies at an altitude of around 1,300 meters and features extensive pastures as well as vast forests. At higher elevations, rhododendrons, mountain pines and edelweiss grow. PalĂą di San Lorenzo has a different natural character: the area is a protected wetland with distinctive botanical and faunal characteristics. Piana di Marcesina is used by hikers and sports enthusiasts in both summer and winter. The range of landscapes therefore extends from open uplands and forests to a protected wetland.

Trails with Distinctive Character

Connessione delle memorie is a 7.5-kilometer educational trail with six points of interest. It connects Marcesina and Valmaron via an old military road. Sentiero Panorama, by contrast, is an easy walking trail from Stoner to Monte Spitz. It is marked with signposts, some of which feature QR codes that provide access to an audio guide. Valmaron also has a small ski area for alpine skiing.
