Pantiere: Discover Churches, Villas and Landscapes

Pantiere offers different ways to experience history and the landscape. Villa Da Porto, historic churches and sites on the surrounding hills stand alongside the small Lago di Montorso and a nature trail. This allows you to combine cultural impressions with peaceful walks and excursions into the wider surrounding area.

Venetian Villas and Ecclesiastical History

Villa Da Porto was built between 1662 and 1724 and is one of the most extensive complexes among the Venetian villas. The villa has an availability calendar for 2026 as well as a formal procedure for submitting a usage request. These two details are particularly relevant if you would like to plan your stay with a view to the possible uses of this historic complex.

On Colle della Fratta, only the old bell tower, Vecchia Torre Campanaria, remains of the former 13th-century parish church. A historic complex was also built on Colle Fratta between the 10th and 12th centuries. Both sites point to a long development of the fortified and ecclesiastically influenced cultural landscape, without this implying any present-day use.

The Chiesa Parrocchiale di S. Biagio was built between 1840 and 1854 to a design by the architect Luigi De Boni. Its bell tower is approximately 40 metres high; construction was completed in 1872. This range of sights is complemented by the Chiesetta di San Marcello, which was built by the local community in the 15th or 16th century and houses a 17th-century wooden statue of Saint Marcellus.

Castles and Museums in the Surrounding Area

The Castello d'Arzignano and Castello della Villa castles are located near Pantiere. In the wider surrounding area, you will also find Castello della Bellaguardia and the Tessaro Museum. The selection therefore ranges from historic buildings to a museum visit; the destinations can be considered independent points of interest for planning your excursions.

Hills, Lake and Nature Trail

Monte Calvarina and Monte Bellocca are located in the vicinity of Pantiere. Both peaks add higher-elevation points to the landscape. Lago di Montorso is a small lake surrounded by greenery, suitable for walks and relaxation. The Sentiero Natura di Montorso Vicentino runs from the hamlet of Ponte Cocco to Monte Agugliana and leads through the landscape.

Panoramic Viewpoints in the Wider Regional Area

For a more extensive excursion, the Panorama dal Piazzale della Basilica di Monte Berico viewpoint and the Punto panoramico "Castello" viewpoint are located in the wider regional area around Pantiere. Together with the hills, lake and historic sites, they create an itinerary that takes both culture and landscape into account.
