Thermal Park and Historic Character of the Town

Recoaro Terme combines a historic thermal complex with regional history, distinctive customs and surroundings shaped by mountain peaks. The Terme di Recoaro thermal complex is set in a 220,000-square-metre park and includes buildings of considerable historical and artistic interest.

Local Customs and History

A notable cultural event is the Chiamata di Marzo. It takes place every two years on the last Sunday in February of an even-numbered year. During the event, participants in costume move through Recoaro Terme and recreate old customs, traditional costumes and legends. The event gives the town a clearly recognisable cultural character and makes traditional performances part of public life. For planning the timing of your stay in Recoaro, the two-year cycle is important because the Chiamata di Marzo does not take place every year.

The Archeovia Campetto–Cima Marana offers another perspective on the past. The approximately 2-kilometre-long trail comprises fourteen stations and presents the history of the area from the Middle Paleolithic, around 100,000 years ago, to the Second World War. The fourteen stations divide the trail into historical periods without specifying a fixed visiting time. The route remains spatially limited to approximately 2 kilometres, while its historical timespan reaches far back into the past. For your planning, Campetto is also a distinct point of orientation: it can be reached by the Recoaro Mille–Montefalcone chairlift or on foot via the path leading up from Pizzegoro. Campetto therefore offers two different access options: the chairlift and the footpath from Pizzegoro.

Regional Cuisine with Its Own History

The Gnocchi con la Fioreta De.Co., typical of Recoaro, are part of the local identity. They are made from white flour and semi-firm ricotta, which is skimmed off when it first rises to the surface. The gnocchi are then served with mountain butter and cheese matured in the Recoaro area.

The Punto panoramico “Castello” viewpoint is located near Recoaro Terme. The Palazzo Fogazzaro palace is also in the surrounding area. The Ecomuseo dell'Archeologia Industriale museum is likewise located near Recoaro Terme, as is the ancient site of Monte Bolca.
