Discover Tezze sul Brenta: Nature, the Brenta Cycle Route and Culture

When planning a trip to Tezze sul Brenta, different focal points emerge: the diverse river landscape of the Brenta, natural history experiences, and historic and cultural sites. The Natura 2000 site “SAC/SPA IT3260018 Grave e Zone Umide della Brenta” also extends across Tezze sul Brenta. It includes gravel banks, floodplain areas, abandoned river bends, dry grasslands, and wetlands with reeds and other riparian vegetation. More than 70 different species have been identified in the area.

River Landscape and Nature in Parco dell’Amicizia

The riverbed of the Brenta forms a small geological encyclopedia: its catchment area encompasses a broad range of mountains with the main types of rock, which the water transports downstream. The Parco dell’Amicizia offers an accessible introduction to these topics. The park has diverse biodiversity and provides natural history information about plants as well as geological information about rocks.

The Parco dell’Amicizia is also a practical place to stop for a shared break: specially equipped barbecue areas are available beneath shade-providing trees. Ecological activity days take place in the park every year in March and October. The nature theme therefore ranges from observing different species and riparian landscapes to geological connections and community activities.

Cycling along the Brenta

If you would like to explore Tezze sul Brenta by bicycle, the Ciclovia del Brenta reaches Tezze sul Brenta on its final stage and then continues towards Padua. From the Parco dell’Amicizia, it is also possible to take a mountain bike loop of approximately 25 kilometres. These two different route descriptions help distinguish between a longer connection along the Brenta and an independent mountain bike loop, without equating the two options.

Bridge, Heritage Protection and Museums

A prominent structure is the Ponte della Vittoria. It was inaugurated on 6 November 1983 and consists of 17 spans. The bridge was designed and built to facilitate the movement of people and commercial and cultural exchange between the riverside communities of Tezze and Friola.

The Villa Molin-Lucci complex, which bears the name “San Gaetano” and is protected as a historic monument, is also part of the area’s cultural history. In the vicinity of Tezze are the Museo dei Costumi della Partita a Scacchi and the Palladio Museum, both of which are museums. The Castello Inferiore and Castello Superiore are also located nearby, and both are castles.

Further destinations in the surrounding area complete the picture: Monte Alberelli is a mountain near Tezze, Cave di Rubbio is a cave, and Giardino Parolini is a garden. The wider regional area around Tezze also includes the viewpoint Panorama dal Piazzale della Basilica di Monte Berico.

Further places for regional orientation: Foza, Solagna, Arzignano, Nanto, Gambellara, Tresché Conca, Zovencedo, Villaga
