The entrance to the Oasi WWF Monte Polveracchio is located at kilometre 15 of provincial road 31 „Campagna-Acerno“ in the village of Malepasso in Campagna (SA). The Oasi WWF di Serre Persano is located in the municipalities of Campagna and Serre (SA), within a Special Area of Conservation (IT8050021) and a Special Protection Area (SPA).

The landscape is also shaped by three small rivers: the Atri, Tenza and Trigento cross Campagna from north to south and flow into the Sele River.

Rock cave, views and historic architecture

The Eremo di San Michele was built inside a natural rock cave. It overlooks the Valle del Trigento and, farther away, the Valle del Sele and the Monti Picentini. For you, this site combines an unusual setting with views across several valleys and mountain landscapes.

The Palazzo Ducale was built at the end of the 17th century. In 1694, after acquiring the fiefdom of Campagna and receiving the title of first duke, the patrician Nicola Pironti, who came from Ravello, had a feudal palace built beside the Chiesa del Santissimo Salvatore.

At the Palazzo Ducale, arcades with large round arches and wrought-iron railings run along three sides of the courtyard. In the centre of the courtyard stands a fountain with a stone mask; beside the staircase are two sculpted medallions with human heads. These elements in particular draw attention to the design of the interior and to details that go beyond the building’s purely architectural form.

Museum, ancient sites and Festa de ’A Chiena

The Museo della Memoria e della Pace – Centro Studi „Giovanni Palatucci“ extends over two levels and is divided into three different educational formats. This focus is complemented by ancient sites in the surroundings of Campagna: C.da Palazza is located in the immediate vicinity of Campagna, while Serradarce is in the area around Campagna. The cultural range therefore extends from memory and education to archaeological sites.

The Festa de ’A Chiena commemorates the historic practice of diverting the waters of the Tenza River through the streets of Campagna’s historic centre. The programme includes the „Passeggiata“, during which participants walk through the water.
