MuSea displays around 100 marine species in tanks distributed across three rooms; it opened to the public in 1996.

The Museo vivente della Dieta Mediterranea is located on the first floor of Palazzo Vinciprova. It comprises five exhibition rooms and preserves the personal library of Ancel Keys, which his family donated to the municipality of Pollica. Nature Trail and Marine Conservation

There is also a documented reason to explore the surroundings on foot beyond the exhibitions. An approximately 2-kilometre-long, relatively easy nature trail begins in front of the Museo Vivo del Mare and leads to the Pozzo dell’Uva Nera at a cascade. In winter, the trail is not always passable. Take this restriction into account when planning your trip and check the current local situation for a winter stay.

The Museo Vivo del Mare is also home to a Turtle Center dedicated to the protection of sea turtles. It was established as part of the European LIFE TURTLENEST project. This gives the town's exhibitions and coastal offerings a specific connection to marine conservation.
