Nature Reserve with Forests and Pastureland

The Riserva Naturale Regionale Monti Eremita Marzano covers 3,680 hectares of the massif with the mountains Eremita, 1,579 metres high, and Marzano, 1,527 metres high. The protected area also extends into the municipality of Laviano and thus shapes the town's natural setting. Extensive forests with centuries-old trees alternate with expansive meadows and pastures. The route passes through green landscapes and forests and offers views of the Alta Valle del Sele. Ponte Tibetano di Laviano

A special pedestrian crossing is the Ponte Tibetano di Laviano. The modern bridge, supported by steel cables, hangs more than 80 metres above the ground of the Vallone delle Conche and offers views of the surrounding landscape. Access is via Piazza Padre Pio; no admission ticket is required. The bridge therefore forms a clearly identifiable focal point within the visitor experience, while the surrounding trails and landscapes place your stay within Laviano's wider natural setting.

Practical Information Before Your Visit

There is a free parking area for visitors. From there, you can walk to the Info Point. At the Info Point, the QR code ticket is checked before the visit begins; visitors also receive the necessary information there. This sequence provides a clear framework for orientation on site. When choosing accommodation for your trip to Laviano, you can therefore decide in advance whether your main interests should be the hiking trails and forests, the Ponte Tibetano or the historic buildings.

Church and Medieval Traces

The Chiesa Madre di Santa Maria Assunta adds a historical dimension to the nature and hiking destinations. Its construction is attributed to the year 1184; no admission fee is required to enter the church. The Castello Medievale di Laviano dates back to the Norman period. Corner towers, a moat, a stone bridge and an inner courtyard have been preserved. Together with the church, these buildings make the town's development accessible through specific architectural traces and give a stay in Laviano a cultural focus alongside excursions into the landscape.
