Architecture and Art in the Cathedral of San Matteo
The Cathedral of San Matteo combines Romanesque, Baroque, Lombard, Byzantine, Norman and Renaissance elements. The cathedral also contains a double-faced statue of Saint Matthew. Michelangelo Naccherino created it in 1606; it was erected above the tomb of the patron saint with a double altar.
Castello di Arechi Above Salerno
Castello di Arechi is located above Salerno on Bonadies Hill. Its terraces offer views across the entire gulf. The former stables of Castello di Arechi house an exhibition of ceramics and finds from within the castle complex.
