Cerasolo between Olive Oil and History
When considering Cerasolo as a travel destination, you encounter two clearly combinable themes: local olive oil production and historical evidence. The place can be explored through both regional production and religious and older local references. This allows you to combine a culinary focus with an interest in cultural history when planning your trip.

In Cerasolo Ausa, the Oleificio Pasquinoni factory outlet allows you to buy olive oil directly at the production site. Oleificio Pasquinoni presses local olives to produce extra virgin olive oil. If you would like to include regional production in your trip, the focus here is not only on the finished product but also on the place where it is made.
Church and Historical Traces
The Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista in Cerasolo was already dedicated to Saint John the Baptist in 1231. The right-hand chapel contains a stone baptismal font dating from 1572. The church also houses a Madonna and Child. The dates and religious furnishings give the church several clearly distinguishable historical references.
Two documents from 1231 made it possible to identify the church of Cerasolo with the Pieve referred to as “in cella Jovis.” The construction of the Castrum Ceresolo also dates back to 1200. Cerasolo’s historical horizon therefore extends beyond the church’s patron saint and includes further medieval local references.
Museums and Spatial Orientation
The Museo Olimpico, a museum, is located in the vicinity of Cerasolo. Tesoro della Cattedrale, a museum, and the “Ancient weapons museum” are also located nearby. These three museums broaden the cultural perspective beyond the historical evidence directly associated with Cerasolo. They can therefore be considered independent destinations in the wider area when planning your trip.
A specific route connection is also part of the picture: The Parco del Marano–Cerasolo–Mulazzano–Vecciano route leads to Cerasolo and turns onto Via Il Pedrone near its church.
A section of the former Rimini–San Marino railway line also runs through the hamlet of Cerasolo Ausa. Its historical status is explicitly part of the connection: it is a former railway line. Alongside the church, Pieve and Castrum Ceresolo, the former railway connection between Rimini and San Marino is therefore another historical theme.
What Makes Cerasolo Special
Cerasolo is suitable for a trip that combines local olive oil production, religious history, medieval local references and museums in the surrounding area. The Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista provides a particularly concentrated historical focus, while Cerasolo Ausa establishes the culinary connection. The route and former railway line complement these themes with further spatial and historical connections.
