Orientation between Togliano and the Val Chiarò
Provincial Road No. 13 leads from Togliano towards Torreano and then into the Val Chiarò. Along the way, the road leads exclusively to the rural settlements of Masarolis, Tamoris and Reant. This sequence provides a clear framework for geographical orientation.
The Roggia di Torreano is an approximately 6-kilometre-long artificial canal that carries water from the Chiarò via Cividale to the Natisone.

Above Prestento, the Forà n di Landri cave preserves remains pointing to prehistoric human presence. Torreano has been shaped by the peaceful coexistence, maintained for a very long time, of the Friulian population in the valley and the Slovenian population in the mountains. The name Torreano is derived from the Roman Romanisation of Friuli and the name of the Roman centurion Turius. The Pro Loco Torreano also organises and promotes the local village festival, “Festa sul Chiarò”.
Routes to caves and viewpoints
From the bridge over the Sclesò, a path leads to the Forà n-des-Aganis cave. Beyond the rocky ridge, a climb leads to Casa Pèc; from there, there is a view across the entire valley. When walking, the route to the cave follows the bridge; beyond the rocky ridge, the climb continues to Casa Pèc.
Bike trails with varying levels of difficulty
Bike-related activities in Torreano include different surfaces and technical sections. Il Radici was created in 1991 by what is now ASD Valchiarò and is now considered an enduro trail. Torreano Bike Land includes trails with mixed dirt and stone surfaces, rock gardens and roots. For a bike tour in Torreano, the surface is therefore a planning factor in its own right alongside the technical characteristics of the route.
The Falco Trail is smooth to ride while also featuring technically demanding sections. Within the range of biking options, this places a different type of route in the foreground than the trails of Torreano Bike Land.
