Pico combines a medieval town center with literary traces, regional tradition and the landscapes of the Monti Aurunci. The oldest part of the historic center dates from the 10th to the 11th century. Historic routes through the town center
The distinctive buildings include the ruins of Castello Farnese. They include a tower with a Renaissance-era clock. Also located in the medieval town center is the Chiesa di Santa Marina, which dates from the 11th century and is one of the oldest places of worship in the center. Porta San Rocco completes this ensemble: it is the only one of Pico’s three original town gates to have been preserved intact.

The Parco Letterario® Tommaso Landolfi was inaugurated in July 2014. Pico also offers a specific starting point for cycling. The Bike Park dei Monti Aurunci runs between the Piana di Sant’Onofrio near Campodimele and the plain of Valle Vona in Pico. The park includes a 22-kilometer circular route with trails of varying difficulty. From Pico, the Bike Park can be reached via signposted paths; the signs lead to the trails. This allows you to take both the length of the circular route and the different levels of difficulty into account when planning your trip.
Landscape of the Monti Aurunci
In the rural and mountainous areas of Pico, the Monti Aurunci form part of the Parco Naturale dei Monti Aurunci. Directly below Pico, the Fosso Forma di Sant’Oliva flows. Local tradition and annual event
The local character is also reflected in the tradition of the “pani di San Rocco.” Women prepare these loaves and carry them in a procession. Another recurring part of local life is the Rally di Pico, which has taken place every year since 1979. Both themes represent different facets of Pico: the loaves refer to a community tradition, while the rally showcases motor sport in the town.
