Churches Amid Frescoes and Centuries

The Chiesa di Santa Maria Elisabetta preserves the years 1532 and 1538 on its entrance portals. The presbytery and side walls feature frescoes that re-emerged after the restorations of 1907 and 1969. Many of these depictions portray Marian events. Its architecture also points to a long history: its characteristic elements place the church in the late 15th century.

The Chiesetta di Sant'Andrea is generally considered the oldest of Artogne's churches; its origins are usually dated to the 14th century. The vault of the presbytery also contains a fresco in a lunette dated 4 July 1515. The Chiesa di San Rocco is officially attributed to the 16th century, although it has older origins. Each bay of the nave's vault contains a medallion with frescoes depicting episodes from the life of Saint Roch, dated to the mid-19th century.
