Voltino between Church Art, History and Monte Bestone

Voltino is considered one of the oldest villages in the municipality of Tremosine sul Garda. From Voltino, you can enjoy views of Monte Baldo and Lake Garda. Church of San Lorenzo Martire

The Church of San Lorenzo Martire in Voltino has three naves and is completely decorated with frescoes. Its altarpiece depicts the Madonna with Saints Lorenzo, Stefano and John the Baptist, dates from 1575 and was created by Luca Mombello. On 23 June 1838, San Lorenzo Martire was elevated to the status of parish church. An extension followed in 1859: the side naves were added, the central nave received another bay, and the entrance was moved to its present position on the north side. Here, the connection between architecture, painting and building history can be traced through specific details.

Religious Art in Voltino and Pozza

The religious artworks in Voltino and Pozza differ in both subject matter and date. A wayside shrine in Pozza, between Voltino and Ustecchio, bears a fresco from 1668 dedicated to the Madonna as Helper of Sinners. From the Iron Age to the Roman Period

Rock Fissure and Feast Day
