Pintura between skiing, panoramas and beech forests

Pintura is a particularly interesting locality in terms of landscape, situated at an altitude of around 1,331 metres. The locality lies near a beech forest and tall woodlands and is a good starting point for excursions in the Sibillini Mountains. Its character combines mountain scenery, winter sports, cycling excursions and trails through wooded areas.

Panorama and local character

The Madonnina votive chapel stands at an altitude of 1,480 metres and watches over the hamlet of Pintura di Bolognola. The chapel is therefore higher than the locality of Pintura. The Madonnina della Pintura was rebuilt by the Barberini family in 1983 and is regarded as a symbol of the hamlet. From the Madonnina, there is a 360-degree view of the peaks of the Parco dei Monti Sibillini, the town of Bolognola and the ski slopes of Bolognolaski. The chapel site combines a tangible connection to the area's history with a wide view across the mountain landscape.

Winter sports in the locality of Pintura

The Bolognolaski ski station in the locality of Pintura has an elevation difference of 400 metres. Its facilities begin at 1,280 metres and extend to below the summit of Monte Castelmanardo at 1,680 metres. In Pintura di Bolognola, there is also a cross-country skiing school in the Pian di Sopra area. A winter day in Pintura can therefore be planned around downhill skiing at Bolognolaski and cross-country skiing in Pian di Sopra as separate focuses, depending on which of the two sports is the priority.

Cycling with different profiles

Bolognola-Ski's e-bike rental service is located directly at Pintura's main car park. It offers both front-suspension models and full-suspension models. Pintura di Bolognola is also suitable as a starting point for cycling excursions on routes of varying lengths and difficulty levels. Front suspension and full suspension refer to the rental bikes, while length and difficulty level distinguish the cycling routes. A special addition is the Bike Circus: its course features jumps, ramps and a BIG AIR BAG. In a controlled environment, visitors can practise manoeuvres and acrobatics there. When planning a day of cycling in Pintura, route length and difficulty level can be considered alongside the course with jumps and ramps.

Forests and trails in the Sibillini Mountains

The Percorso Natura runs through centuries-old beech forests and offers panoramas as well as an equipped trail for physical well-being; one of its stages is La Madonnina. The trail thus connects the forest, the panorama and the site of the votive chapel. Macchia Tonda is also part of Pintura's natural landscape: the forest is almost circular and consists of beech trees. From the square in Pintura di Bolognola, the Grande Anello dei Sibillini follows an unpaved road downhill to the Rifugio Casale di Vallecaprina. The downhill stretch of the Grande Anello should therefore be considered as a separate section of the tour.
