San Ginesio: History, Trails and Panoramic Views

At the Giostra dell’Anello, riders from four Contrade compete against one another. Using a lance, they first try to hit three rings suspended from a post and then remove them. This format also makes the event accessible to visitors who are not yet familiar with this Italian festival tradition.

In addition, the mountain-bike route to the natural “Entogge” waterfalls runs through the landscape around San Ginesio. Its surface is paved and not demanding. This means that, alongside hiking, different forms of cycling are also a focus.

Panoramas and Natural Landscapes

From the panoramic garden on Colle Ascarano, the view extends over the Monti Sibillini to Monte Conero on the Adriatic Sea. The Santuario di San Liberato is located in the San Ginesio area within the Parco dei Monti Sibillini. Both places direct your gaze towards the expansive landscape and its different geographical connections.

A truffle hunt can also be planned as a special experience: La Cerqua Tartufi organises truffle hunts in the Apennines, open to everyone. The experience appeals to travellers who want to combine the region’s natural surroundings with culinary interests.
