Abbey, Church and Historic Architecture

The Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo was commissioned by Benedictine monks between the 9th and 10th centuries and has been documented in records since 1218. In Lamoli, the abbey contains three late-15th-century frescoes: a Madonna breastfeeding the Child, Saint Roch and Saint Julian. The historical arc therefore extends from the abbey’s early origins to its late-medieval paintings.

The rebuilt Church of Santa Maria Nuova is located in the centre of Borgo Pace’s main square. Its side altar contains a late-15th-century panel by the Umbrian school depicting the Virgin with the Child and angels.

In addition, the route from Ranco Fabbro to Borgo Pace follows CAI hiking trails no. 389 and 385. Local Character and Accommodation Location

The Patata Rossa di Sompiano is an indigenous potato variety cultivated and protected by a local association of farmers. This allows you to consider the preferred location according to the focus of your trip, without reducing the character of the area to a single experience.
