Its exterior brings together Romanesque and Gothic elements; inside, the cathedral has a baptismal font bearing the year 1537. Guardialfiera's Literary Park combines monuments, landscape, streams and sunsets with places described by Francesco Jovine. Documents relating to Francesco Jovine are also displayed there, along with the school desk at which his students from Guardialfiera sat in the 1920s. Festivals in the lanes and dishes from Guardialfiera

The Presepe Vivente has been held for more than 30 years and brings historic crafts and flavors back to life during the Christmas season. Its route leads through the steps and lanes of Piedicastello, including the suggestive staircase, and comprises more than 30 scenes with around 180 participants. Another festive highlight is the Festa di San Giuseppe, featuring a sung Mass, a procession, the sound of a fanfare and fireworks.

The cuisine also tells of the local festivals. Pasta con la mollica is made with boiled bucatini, grated stale bread seasoned with pepper and olive oil and briefly gratinated, as well as a sauce made from oil, onion and a piece of salt cod. On the morning of the feast day, Pasta di San Giuseppe is distributed in the homes; it consists of bucatini with red sauce and golden-brown toasted breadcrumbs.

Transport connection across the lake

The Bifernina Viaduct, a state road, crosses Lago di Guardialfiera and connects Termoli with Campobasso.
