Golden sand between rocks and reef
S'Arena Scoada beach consists of fine golden sand mixed with multicolored quartz fragments and stones. In some places, smooth rocks protrude from the beach, giving the shore a varied character. The beach stretches from Punta S'Incodina near the cliffs of Su Tingiosu to Putzu Idu. A small reef separates S'Arena Scoada from Putzu Idu.
Surfing at the Is Benas Surf Club's main beach
S'Arena Scoada is the main beach of the Is Benas Surf Club. The associated surf school offers lessons for all surfing levels, making it suitable for people with different levels of prior experience. Each surf lesson includes a 15- to 20-minute warm-up as well as instruction on water safety. The Is Benas Surf Club also provides all the necessary technical surfing equipment. This allows you to include surfing as a distinct focus in your daily plans without having to view the landscape solely from the shore.
Coastal path, cliffs and birdwatching
A coastal path begins at the pond and the fishing harbor behind it in Su Tingiosu and ends in S'Arena Scoada. You can walk or cycle along it. Cormorants live in the crevices of the cliffs of Su Tingiosu. In the late afternoon, birdwatchers can observe them returning from their daily search for food. The cliff coast of Su Tingiosu extends for more than two kilometers in the area around S'Arena Scoada and reaches a height of 25 meters.
In the S'Arena Scoada area, S'Architteddu lies between high cliffs made of limestone and clay, which are typical of this region. These rocks shape the immediate landscape just as much as the transitions between the beach and the rocky coast.
Accessible orientation at the beach
S'Arena Scoada beach is wheelchair accessible. Bathers use the limestone rocks mixed with clay for cosmetic purposes and mud baths. In addition to surfing and coastal observation, the beach therefore offers a special use of its natural materials rooted in the local area.
Getting there via Putzu Idu
The road to S'Arena Scoada leads via the SP 7 in the direction of Putzu Idu. Then follow the SP 66 for approximately ten kilometers. Before Putzu Idu, turn left and follow the signs to S'Arena Scoada. This sequence of roads helps you break the journey into individual points of orientation.
