Ancient history in Santa Giusta
Santa Giusta combines ancient settlement history, sacred architecture, textile traditions and wetlands of European and international significance. The Basilica di Santa Giusta has a crypt with four side aisles covered by quadripartite rib vaults. The vaults are supported by six low marble columns. This provides the basilica with a specific architectural detail for anyone who wants not only to view sacred spaces from the outside, but also to consider their construction and layout.
Othoca and textile traditions
Othoca was founded around the second half of the 8th century BC. The necropolis of Othoca extended south of the settlement in the area of what is now the Chiesa di Santa Severa.
The textile traditions of Santa Giusta include tapestries and carpets. They are made on horizontal looms and show a clear Byzantine influence. Alongside its ancient past, this means that a clearly defined craft tradition that continues to this day is also part of the town's cultural profile.
Wetlands with special protection status
The Stagno di Santa Giusta was included in the European Commission's list of Sites of Community Importance because of its special plant and animal species. The Stagno di Pauli Majori is one of the internationally important wetlands protected under the Ramsar Convention. Both landscapes offer a focus on nature that clearly differs from the historical themes surrounding Othoca and the basilica.

The nearby area of Santa Giusta is home to the Museo Civico Santa Giusta, the Raccolta dell'Opera del Duomo and the Museo Archeologico Antiquarium Arborense. All three are museums. The Palazzo degli Scolopi, a palace, is also located nearby.
