Accommodation in Seneghe
Seneghe combines the landscape of Montiferru with an unusually rich succession of archaeological and cultural features. The town lies on the southern slopes of Montiferru. The area around Seneghe contains several Giants' Tombs and at least one hundred Nuraghi. Here, you will encounter both vast natural landscapes and traces of a long, distinctive history.

Forests and mountain landscapes on Montiferru
The municipal forest of Seneghe, known as “su monte”, covers approximately 900 hectares. It includes ancient trees as well as numerous animal and plant species of naturalist interest. In the mountainous areas of Seneghe above 750 to 800 m above sea level, forests of holm oaks and holly trees predominate. These formations are particularly visible in the Pabassiu area, where they are of exceptionally high naturalist value. The municipal forest forms a large-scale natural area, while the mountain forests occupy their own elevation zone within the territory of Seneghe.
Birdlife is also one of the defining natural features: around 80 bird species have been recorded in the Seneghe area. The nearby surroundings also include the mountains of Monte Mesu e Roccas, Punta Perda Lasinosa, Monte Rassu and Punta Mandra Noisca.
Archaeology and Buildings
Several ancient sites are located near Seneghe. They include Nuraghe Umoulos, Nuraghe Chimbeina, Nuraghe Scala and Nuraghe Aurras 2. Together with the Giants' Tombs and the at least one hundred Nuraghi in the area, they open up a broad archaeological field encompassing everything from individual archaeological sites to the historic landscape around the town.
The buildings in Seneghe also make their own distinctive contribution. The parish church is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception and San Sebastiano and was consecrated in 1893. The Oratorio del Rosario dates from the 17th century. In the second half of the 19th century, its vault was decorated with frescoes by the Ligurian painter Dancardi. The parish church and the Oratorio del Rosario date from different centuries and therefore represent two chronologically separate building phases. The frescoes on the vault of the Oratorio were created later than the building itself.
Singing, Festivals and Tastings
During Holy Week, the four-part polyphonic singing of the cori a cuntrattu rings through the streets of Seneghe. Another cultural event is the Cabudanne de sos Poetas festival, which takes place in Seneghe every year. Both events connect the town with musical and literary forms of expression and give travel planning a seasonal focus.
At the end of November, Prentzas Apertas takes place. The event uses the streets of the town centre and old olive mills as venues. There, it offers the opportunity to sample cheese and sweet dishes.
