Spiaggia Pietrenere is approximately 1,500 meters long and features fine golden sand, showers and beach facilities. For planning a cycling tour, the cycle path there provides a clear point of reference: It runs from Pietrenere to the center of Pozzallo. Towers, Churches and a Festival at Sea

Torre Cabrera is a defensive tower built in the 15th century. It was built to protect the warehouses located in Pozzallo from pirate attacks. In the historic center stands Chiesa Madonna del Rosario, a Neoclassical church built between 1878 and 1937. Chiesa Santa Maria di Portosalvo stands directly beside the beach and Torre Cabrera. The two churches therefore provide different spatial focal points: one is located in the historic center, while the other is immediately beside the beach and defensive tower.

On June 24, the festival in honor of San Giovanni Battista includes a procession at sea. During it, a statue of the saint is taken out on a boat, followed by dozens of other small boats. This date and the maritime nature of the event give the festival a clear place in the cultural landscape around Pozzallo.

Harbor and Connections by Sea

The port of Pozzallo serves as a passenger port, fishing port, marina and tourist port. The Pozzallo–Malta catamaran service is also one of the town's specific travel options: It takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
