The history of the place also includes the fact that the Gabrielli family donated the castle, estate and villa of Camporeggiano to San Pier Damiani on the condition that a monastery dedicated to the Apostle San Bartolomeo be built.

The ruins of a castle are visible on Monte Cavallo above Camporeggiano. The Madonna del Monte chapel stands at an altitude of 679 metres in a sunny location and offers views of the Monte Cucco and Monte Catria massifs, as well as the hills towards Montone.
