Lisciano Niccone between trekking, forests and history

Lisciano Niccone lies in the valley of the Niccone stream and combines a landscape-shaped setting with traces of very ancient settlement and historic sites. The Chiesa di San Nicolò is located in Località Val di Rose, a hamlet of Crocicchie in the municipality of Lisciano Niccone. It has a rectangular floor plan and two side entrances leading to the sacristy. The church contains an altarpiece painted around 1515 by Eusebio di Jacopo di Cristoforo da Sangiorgio, a pupil of Raphael.

The nearby Ipogeo in Località Villa Sagraia is also located in the Lisciano Niccone area. Together with the Etruscan and Roman finds, this site broadens the perspective on the area’s long history of settlement.
