Masarè overlooks the far end of Lake Alleghe. The Parco 11 gennaio 1771 commemorates the landslide on Monte Piz, which created Lake Alleghe. In 1771, the landslide blocked the course of the Torrente Cordevole. Masarè was established after the formation of Lake Alleghe; the area lies largely on the landslide deposits. From Masarè, the slide area of the major landslide is also visible.

Two routes between Sottoguda and Masarè are relevant for cycling. The Sottoguda–Masarè cycle path runs partly on unpaved and partly on paved surfaces, has a medium difficulty level and offers several variants.
