Paderno Del Grappa combines trails through forests and valleys with churches, historical traces and striking landscape experiences. For travelers who want to explore Italy on foot or by bicycle, the range extends from an easy hike to via ferratas and a 40-kilometer cycling and walking route. At the same time, the trails lead to churches, an old mill, a waterfall and the ruins of a medieval castle.

Easy Hike Along the Lastego

The easy hike “B – Paderno and the Ezzelini Trail” begins in Paderno at the Lastego stream. It is 5.50 kilometers long, has an elevation gain of 150 meters and takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Along the route are the parish church of Paderno, the old Church of San Paolo, a small waterfall and an old mill on the Lastego stream, as well as Villa Fietta. This route therefore combines natural and cultural experiences in a manageable format.

Forest Trails and Views Across the Valley

Route C, “Le Motte and Col Muson,” begins in Paderno and leads through the surrounding forests to the ruins of the medieval Col Muson castle. From there, it offers an impressive view across the valley. The route has a different focus from the shorter hike along the Lastego: forests, historical ruins and expansive landscapes take center stage.

Via Ferratas near Lastego and San Liberale

The Ferrata dei Sass Brusai leads from Paderno through the Lastego Valley to the chapel of Saints Liberale and Vitale. Along the southern ridge of Sass Brusai, it ascends approximately 350 meters.

Another via ferrata is the Sentiero Carlo Guzzella. From San Liberale, it first follows a forest road and then a wooded ridge toward the rugged rock walls of the Napon. Together, the two via ferratas reveal different landscapes between valley, forest, ridge and rock.

The Church History of Paderno

The parish church of the Annunciation, known in Italian as Chiesa parrocchiale dell’Annunciazione della Beata Maria Vergine, has a written history reaching back to the Middle Ages. The first document attesting to its existence dates from 1297; it is a papal tithe connected with the Pieve di San Pietro di Fonte.

After the severe earthquake of February 25, 1695, the parish church of the Annunciation was badly damaged and subsequently rebuilt. Those who combine the hiking trails with an interest in regional history therefore encounter not only a religious building here, but also a clearly dated chapter of the town’s history.

Cycling and Walking Route Along the Muson

The tourist route “Sui Sentieri degli Ezzelini” along the Muson is a cycling and walking route measuring 40 kilometers in total. It runs mainly along the Muson River and partly along the Musonello. The route passes through the municipalities of Riese Pio X, Loria, Castello di Godego, Castelfranco Veneto, Resana, Crespano del Grappa, Paderno del Grappa, Fonte and Asolo.

In San Liberale, in the municipality of Paderno, the “Sui Sentieri degli Ezzelini” route connects again with the Grappa routes. This allows you to assign short hikes, longer trails and cycling stages to different daily rhythms when planning your own trip, without conflating the individual experiences.
