Film culture at the Palazzo del Cinema
The Palazzo del Cinema on Lido di Venezia is the main venue of the Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica. Its history dates back to 10 August 1937, when the building was inaugurated for the fifth edition of the Mostra. The Sala Grande has 1,032 seats as well as four seats reserved for people with disabilities. The 83rd Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica will take place from 2 September 2026 to 12 September 2026 at Lido di Venezia.
Malamocco between canals, alleyways and history
Malamocco is a village on the Lido where you can stroll along the canal through alleyways and fields. The Church of Santa Maria Assunta houses the statue of the Madonna di Marina and a Christ from Poveglia. The Murazzi provide another historical trace: the stone shoreline fortification was built by the Republic of Venice to protect the island from erosion.
