Forte Bazzera and Torre di Tessera

Forte Bazzera is the only powder magazine of this new fortification system that has survived to the present day. Torre di Tessera is a cylindrical tower in the Romanesque-Byzantine style, built by the Venetians between the 9th and 10th centuries. One of the two small bronze bells in the belfry of Torre di Tessera bears the casting year 1509. The Chiesetta di S. Elena imperatrice e S. Antonio Abate was first mentioned in writing in 1089. The former Benedictine monastery was founded in 1130. Festivals and Running Event

Opening Hours and Public Transport Connection

Forte Bazzera’s opening hours are Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 17:30 and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 to 19:00. ACTV city bus line 2 connects Venice and Marco Polo Airport via Tessera. The opening hours divide the day into a weekday afternoon window and a longer weekend window. The weekend time window begins earlier and ends later than on weekdays.
