Pacengo between the Lakeshore, History and Theme Parks

Pacengo combines the lakeside landscape with a remarkable architectural and local history, as well as two very different leisure attractions. Harbor, Cycling Promenade and a Multifaceted Past

The harbor area of Pacengo is a green space surrounded by pebble and grass beaches. A cycling promenade leads from the harbor towards Peschiera del Garda. At the same time, archaeological finds point to a long history of settlement: foundations of buildings and remains of Roman structures were discovered in Pacengo; the remains of a large pile-dwelling settlement were also found. Numerous significant Bronze Age finds were discovered in the Bor and Porto areas in the second half of the 19th century. On April 28, 1848, during the First Italian War of Independence, Pacengo was the scene of a battle between Austrian and Piedmontese troops, which the Piedmontese won.

The Parish Church of San Giovanni Battista

The parish church of San Giovanni Battista in Pacengo was built between 1787 and 1792. Its temple-like façade is characterized by four Ionic half-columns and a semicircular balustrade. Inside, the church has three inlaid altars made with multicolored marble. There are also works and frescoes painted on canvas depicting the life of John the Baptist.

Villas with Venetian and Florentine Influences

South of Pacengo, in the hamlet of Mattarana, Villa Giuli stands on a lakeside terrace. It is a Florentine-style villa with a square floor plan, two stories and an attic. It contains an oratory dedicated to the Holy Family. Liturgical vestments and sacred objects used by Don Giovanni Calabria are preserved there. The estate includes a garden facing the lake with tall trees, including plane trees, cedars of Lebanon, firs, poplars, palms and an impressive yew.

Villa De Beni in the Pacengo district was originally built by the Sagramoso family in the 16th century. It is surrounded by a large park on three sides; a long avenue lined with olive trees leads through vineyards. Villa Balladoro is considered a typical Venetian building from the late 15th century, with a square floor plan. The original layout of its estate can be traced back to 1453.

Caneva The Aquapark is located at Via Fossalta 58, 37017 Pacengo di Lazise (VR). The water park has a tropical design and is conceived as a Caribbean island set in a green environment. Movieland The Hollywood Park is also located at Via Fossalta 58 in 37017 Pacengo di Lazise. Its attractions include live shows and action scenes featuring professional stunt performers.
