Magazzeno on the Gulf of Salerno

Several clearly distinguishable landscape elements meet along the coastal section of Magazzeno. Spiaggia Magazzeno beach lies on the Gulf of Salerno. From this beach, the panoramic view extends from Agropoli (Punta Licosa) to the island of Capri. The rare sea lily, called Giglio di mare in Italian, grows on parts of Magazzeno’s coastal dune. The rare sea lily is limited to parts of the coastal dune; it is not indicated for the entire beach section. The coastal section thus combines the limited natural area of the dune with a wide horizon over the Gulf of Salerno.

Sand, shore zone and river mouth

Spiaggia Magazzeno di Faiano beach consists of fine sand with small pebbles, particularly near the shore. The seabed gradually slopes down towards the open sea. At the same time, the mouth of the Asa River divides Magazzeno beach into two sections. The Asa mouth and the gradually sloping seabed create two different spatial features: the river divides the beach, while the seabed leads towards the open sea. For observing the shoreline, fine sand, small pebbles and the river mouth therefore belong to the same specific coastal area.

Orientation on the beach

In 2026, the Magazzeno bathing water section belongs to Pontecagnano Faiano; its classification is “Buona” (“good”). The accessible beach facilities include three Job wheelchairs with side flotation wheels, five Job wheelchairs with belts and armrests, and six beach walkers. Among the Job wheelchairs, side flotation wheels are contrasted with a version featuring belts and armrests; the beach walkers complement these two variants. The facilities therefore include different aids within the accessible beach facilities. The “Buona” classification, on the other hand, is expressly limited to the year 2026.

A coastal cycle path connects the areas of Pontecagnano, Battipaglia and Eboli to the Sele River near Paestum and extends to Magazzeno. In the town of Magazzeno, the cycle path runs on its own route, is two-way and signposted. The dedicated route in Magazzeno is thus part of the longer course between Pontecagnano, Battipaglia, Eboli and the Sele River near Paestum. For cycle tourists, the connection therefore extends beyond the immediate beach area and into the area near Paestum. Those planning to follow the coastal route by bicycle can consider Magazzeno a local section of a connection extending to the Sele River near Paestum.

Local points of reference at Lido Albatros

For orientation at Lido Albatros, the nearest bus stops, Magazzeno-Df Lido La Vela and Magazzeno-Giardiniello, are approximately two and five minutes away on foot, respectively. The times are approximate. The shorter walking time applies to Magazzeno-Df Lido La Vela, and the longer one to Magazzeno-Giardiniello. According to these approximate times, the two stops are not equally far from Lido Albatros. This does not provide a general distance for the entire town of Magazzeno.
