The Chiesa di Santa Maria dell'Assunta in Ripabottoni is of particular cultural importance: it is a monument of national interest. Its design was created by the Neapolitan artist Ferdinando Sanfelice. Construction began on 6 May 1731 and was completed by 1744, with the exception of the bell tower. The church interior is characterised by numerous paintings and frescoes. Almost all of these works were created by Paolo Gamba, who was born in Ripabottoni in 1712. The church thus combines sacred architecture with an artistic name closely associated with the village.

Palazzo Cappuccilli also broadens the view of Ripabottoni’s architecture. The building was constructed between 1889 and 1897 and displays a clearly recognisable Campanian stylistic influence. In the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Concezione in Ripabottoni, the village’s architectural character is also connected with works by Paolo Gamba. Within the village, you can therefore encounter different periods of construction and artistic associations, without the cultural history being limited to a single building.
