Discover Pineta: Trails, Culture and Landscape

Pineta is also known as Steinmannwald. Trails, sports facilities, architecture and cultural events give the area various specific points of reference.

Landscape with orchards and cultivation in Pineta

Pineta is surrounded by orchards. Grape and apple cultivation play an important role in Pineta. The agricultural surroundings therefore differ from the specific local areas with trails, sports facilities, churches and Brennerstraße. When planning a day, the landscape, culture and physical activity can be considered as separate themes.

Culture between theatre, architecture and carnival

One cultural highlight is the theatre series “Teatro in Pineta”: its 27th edition has been announced for the 2026/2027 season. The Laives Carnival opens the carnival season every year on the Sunday before Shrove Thursday. The two events therefore belong to different periods: the theatre edition is tied to the 2026/2027 season, while the carnival takes place on the Sunday before Shrove Thursday every year.

The Church of San Giuseppe in Pineta has an unusual reinforced-concrete bell tower that reflects the modern architecture of the period in which it was built. The parish church of St Joseph the Worker in Pineta was built between 1963 and 1969 with the help of many volunteers. This gives those interested in culture two specific points of reference: San Giuseppe through its reinforced-concrete bell tower, and the parish church through its construction period from 1963 to 1969 and the assistance of many volunteers. Visitors interested in culture can consider both features separately. The years serve different purposes here: 1963 to 1969 refers to the construction period of the parish church, while 2026/2027 refers to the announced theatre edition.

Trails for hiking and mountain biking

Trail No. 12A begins in Pineta and leads directly to Albergo Rechtebner. At Albergo Rechtebner, it crosses the Laives high trail, Trail No. 12. A mountain-bike tour starts in Pineta, passes through Aslago and Colle, and reaches La Costa. The redesigned Brennerstraße in Pineta also includes a park as well as a pedestrian and cycle path. When planning Trail 12A, three fixed local reference points are helpful: Pineta as the starting point, Albergo Rechtebner as the destination, and the Laives high trail with Trail No. 12 as the crossing point. The mountain-bike tour, by contrast, follows the sequence from Pineta through Aslago and Colle to La Costa. Trail 12A and the mountain-bike tour therefore have different intermediate and destination points.

Sports and time outdoors

The sports zone in Pineta has two tennis courts and one padel court. The Pineta playground on Via Brennero has several play structures. The park, pedestrian path and cycle path along Brennerstraße add further opportunities for physical activity outside the sports zone. This connects three specific areas for spending time outdoors: court sports in the sports zone, play equipment on Via Brennero, and the park and paths along Brennerstraße.
