Solda in the high-alpine Ortler region

It connects the Martell Valley with Solda and leads through impressive high-mountain landscapes in Stelvio National Park. The approximate length of seven kilometres helps you consider the Culture Promenade as a separate day section without specifying a particular walking time. If you choose the Culture Promenade, you are planning a circular trail along the valley floor; if you hike over the Madritschjoch, you are planning a connection between the Martell Valley and Solda.

Peaks around Solda

The Sulden Glacier Trail runs at the foot of the Königspitze, Zebrù and Ortler. The peaks of Dossobello di fuori, Monte dell' Argento, Dossobello di dentro and Vertainspitze are also located in the immediate vicinity of Solda.

Ice, a museum and a historic church

The MMM Ortles is an underground museum in Solda on Mount Ortler and is dedicated to ice. It houses the world’s largest collection of paintings of the Ortler region. The Old Parish Church of Sulden provides a different cultural accent. It was built in the 14th century; its present form dates from the 16th century. The museum combines the themes of ice and the Ortler region, while the church complements them with its architectural history from the 14th to the 16th century.
