The Museo di Storia Naturale – MuSNa organizes its permanent exhibition into ten thematic rooms. The collections include mineralogy, botany and zoology. The marine room presents the Pelagos Sanctuary, a permanent project of the Tuscany Region for the study and protection of whales, dolphins and sea turtles. In this way, the view extends from local natural features to a broader Mediterranean context.

The Centro di Educazione ambientale organizes extracurricular scientific and ecological activities for children, young people and the entire population. The landscape around the town is represented in particular by Parco dei Poggetti, which lies entirely within the municipality of Rosignano Marittimo. It extends from the eastern slope of the hill on which the town stands to the SS 206 and is crossed in its entirety by Sentiero 00 and the Ippovia del Mediterraneo. The natural area thus forms a clear counterpoint to the closely concentrated historical features of the Borgo.

Festivals with history and regional character

The Presepe Vivente, designed as a walking tour, turns old premises in the historic center into settings for depictions of crafts from earlier times. During the Settembre Rosignanese, a Renaissance historical pageant takes center stage on the occasion of the patron saint San Nicola. A procession with lords, ladies, knights and common people in historically accurate costumes gives the festival a distinctly staged historical character.

The Festa del Vino combines tastings of local wines with an exhibition of old objects from rural everyday life, craft markets and dance evenings. Wine, craftsmanship, everyday history and convivial celebration thus come together. The A12 motorway is connected from the north via Livorno and the SS1 variant, with the Rosignano Marittimo exit; the SS1 Aurelia variant also has a Rosignano Marittimo exit.
