Zagarise between Waterfalls, Sila and Sacred Art

Nature between the Canyon and Sila

Access to the Timpe Rosse Canyon is via a path that must be walked and is considered not particularly difficult. At this natural attraction, walking is therefore the main focus. The path is part of the visit and should be taken into account when planning your schedule. Although the Timpe Rosse Canyon is classified as not particularly difficult, your own fitness level remains the key factor when planning the day.

The Cascate Campanaro are located on the road between Sersale and Zagarise in Sila National Park. The waterfall can be reached via a very short, marked forest path with a small rest area. The main waterfall is approximately 20 metres high and is located in a small wooded area. The approximately 20 metres refer to the main waterfall of the Cascate Campanaro. The small rest area provides a place for a short break.

Sacred Art and Museums

At the Museo D’Arte Sacra “Silvestro Frangipane”, the main collection comprises 36 paintings created by monks of the monastery. The museum also displays frescoes from the 16th century. Paintings and sculptures from the 17th to the 19th century come from the Zagarise area, in particular from the Dominican church and monastery as well as from the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta. The sacred collection combines monastic paintings with works from the Zagarise area.

The Centro Informazione Turistica – Museo M.A.R.S. combines a tourist information centre with a museum displaying works by various famous artists. It is located on a public road and has access facilities for people with disabilities.
