Maladroscia between beach, nuraghe and nature trails
Accommodation in Maladroscia
Maladroscia can be experienced through three very different facets: Maladroxia Beach, the S’Ega ‘E ‘Marteddu nuraghe and the Serra Is Tres Portus area. If, for your trip to Italy, you are weighing up the sea, a distinctive structure and outdoor activities, these clearly distinct highlights can help you choose your daily plans.
Light sand and distinctive coastal features
Maladroxia Beach has fine, light-colored sand. Near the shoreline, springs of warm thermal water emerge from the seabed in some places. Another specific feature of the coast is “L’Isola del Cuore” in Maladroxia. It is Sardinia’s first beach facility designed for bathers and visitors with degenerative diseases.
The nuraghe above the town center
The S’Ega ‘E ‘Marteddu nuraghe stands at the highest point of the hill immediately above the town center of Maladroxia. The complex consists of a main tower and a bastion section with three side towers that are only partially preserved. The main tower overlooks the bay of Maladroxia and the mouth of the Rio Triga, offering an impressive view. Access is also clearly described for orientation on site: the nuraghe can be reached via a turnoff from the access road to the Maladroxia district.
Serra Is Tres Portus on foot or by bicycle
For active days, the Serra Is Tres Portus area offers a path that can be explored on foot or by bicycle. The Serra Is Tres Portus nature trail is part of a route connecting Maladroxia Beach with Co’e Cuaddus Beach. The path through the Mediterranean scrub of Serra Is Tres Portus is approximately 1.5 kilometers long. The local flora is also one of the area’s specific features: the endemic orchid Ophrys x Maladroxensis occurs exclusively in the Maladroscia area. Those who pay close attention to the landscape along the way will therefore find not only physical activity here, but also a clearly defined connection with nature.
Cycling tour and bus connection in your travel plan
The “I fenicotteri, Maladroxia” cycling tour is classified as a beginner route and covers 19 kilometers. It starts in Sant’Antioco and leads into the Maladroxia area. This gives it a different emphasis from the shorter path through the scrub and allows it to be included as a separate activity in your travel planning. There is also a precisely defined period for the connection between Sant’Antioco and Maladroxia Beach: from June 16 to September 15, 2026, ARTS bus route 861 runs daily between Sant’Antioco and Maladroxia Beach. If you choose accommodation in Maladroscia, these different highlights—beach, nuraghe, nature trail and cycling tour—can provide a useful structure for planning each day.
