Tisens and the Tesimo-Prissiano holiday area represent a combination of culture, landscapes and regional traditions. Tesimo-Prissiano is situated on a sunny high plateau above the Adige Valley and is surrounded by vineyards, fruit trees and chestnut trees. There are also trails through natural oases, meadows, forests and numerous biotopes. If you would like to shape your stay around different interests, you will find historical topics here as well as easy hiking experiences and insights into South Tyrol’s cultural landscape.

Castles, churches and regional history

Fahlburg is considered one of South Tyrol’s finest Renaissance castles and provides a distinctive cultural highlight. In Tesimo itself, the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta has a history dating far back into the Middle Ages: it is of Romanesque origin and was first mentioned in 1194. Inside, there are stained-glass windows from the Augsburg school dating from around 1520.

The Kneipp facility is located by the Prissiano stream and is operated by the Tesimo-Prissiano Tourist Association.

Easy trails with different focuses

The “Tisner Gall” circular trail starts at the parish church in Tesimo. From there, it follows Trail No. 13 past Zwingenburg Castle towards Caprile.

The “Sentiero panoramico circolare” circular trail offers a different focus. It is a very easy hike above Tesimo and leads to beautiful viewpoints on Monte di Mezzo di Tesimo.

Vineyards, chestnuts and natural oases

The landscape of Tesimo-Prissiano is suitable not only for nature-oriented hikes. The indigenous South Tyrolean grape variety Versoaln is over 360 years old and extends over 300 m² at the foot of the manor house, growing on a traditional pergola made of chestnut wood. Viticulture, chestnuts and the landscape appear here as closely interconnected elements of the region’s character.

The KESCHTNRIGGL Chestnut Days in Tesimo-Prissiano introduce visitors to the region’s chestnut culture and traditions.
